Biography / Biografia

Ulla Lenze (Mönchengladbach 1973) studied music and philosophy in Cologne and lives in Berlin. In 2003 she made her debut with the novel Schwester und Bruder, later she published Archanu (2008), Der kleine Rest des Todes (2012) and Die endlose Stadt (2015). Her latest novel is the Three Lives of Josef Klein (Der Empfänger, Klett-Cotta Verlag 2020 / trad. It. Marsilio 2021),the novel is translated into ten languages. Ulla Lenze was Writer-in-Residence in Damascus, Mumbai, Istanbul and Venice and has received several awards and recognitions, including the Literaturpreis des Kulturkreises der deutschen Wirtschaft in 2016 and, in 2020, the Niederrheinischer Literaturpreis.

Il suo ultimo romanzo, Le tre vite di Josef Klein (Der Empfänger, Klett-Cotta Verlag 2020/trad. it. Marsilio 2021), è stato tradotto in dieci lingue. Ulla Lenze è stata Writer-in-Residence a Damasco, Mumbai, Istanbul e Venezia e ha ricevuto diversi premi e riconoscimenti, tra i quali il Literaturpreis des Kulturkreises der deutschen Wirtschaft nel 2016 e, nel 2020, il Niederrheinischer Literaturpreis.

LEONA STAHLMANN

Leona Stahlmann (*1988) lives and works as a writer and screenwriter in Hamburg and Murnau am Staffelsee. After her award-winning debut “Der Defekt”, she is working on her second novel, which will be published in 2022. She is currently an artist in residence at the German Center for Venetian Studies / Deutches Studienzentrum in Venedig.

Leona Stahlmann (*1988) vive e lavora come scrittrice e autrice teatrale ad Amburgo e a Murnau am Staffelsee. Dopo il suo pluripremiato romanzo di debutto, “Il difetto”, sta lavorando alla propria seconda opera, che verrà pubblicata nel 2022. Attualmente è borsista presso il Centro Tedesco di Studi Veneziani.
